Safety
Taisei is committed to constructing exceptional buildings in a clean, safe environment. This philosophy is clearly evident in all aspects of our operations. From the office to the jobsite, our health and safety program requires the full participation of all team members to ensure the protection of all people, property and equipment.
To aide in achieving this goal, Taisei employs a dedicated Safety Director to implement our comprehensive Injury and Illness Prevention Program and Taisei Safety Procedures (TSP’s). This program is in full compliance with all California Code of Regulations as well as the Code of Federal Regulations and is designed to accomplish the following:
The results are impressive. In 2008, TAISEI Construction Corporation had a recordable incident rate of 1.23, based on more than 350,000 hours worked. The company has a California experience modification rating (EMR) of 0.96, and a National Council of Compensation Insurance (NCCI) global rate of 1.22.
TAISEI recently adopted the use of SafeSiteOne; SafeSiteOne is a fully hosted Web-based application that manages job site safety inspections and documentation, accident and incident documentation, regulatory documentation and real-time communications enabling the tracking and drive to closure of open issues using the product’s Alert-and-Response messaging system and business intelligence system. The product provides an integrated, collaborative solution for job site safety delivering consistency, predictability and awareness for the general contractor and its subcontractors.
The product documents and provides access to job site data and event-based alert messaging for tracking and managing internal safety performance and subcontractor safety performance. It drives safety strategy, enables subcontractor safety performance evaluation and supports subcontractor relationship management and contract decision-making. |
